  • Morning AP Attendance Policy

    • Arrival: Arrive at school and be at your assigned testing room by 7:25 am with sharpened #2 pencils (no mechanical, per College Board), a snack, lunch (if necessary), and a fully-charged calculator, or a calculator with extra batteries, whichever version you have, if necessary.
    • After Exam Procedure: Students are expected to stay after the exam to attend their other classes for the remainder of the normal school day.
    • Make-up Work: Students are responsible to communicate with teachers -- of the classes they missed during  exam time -- to ensure they are aware of any necessary make-up work.
    • Early Release Exam Exception: If a student wishes to return home after a morning AP exam -- without  attending classes for the remainder of the day-- the student and parent/guardian must complete this form prior to the day of their exam.
      • Leave after Exam: The student must leave immediately after the AP exam with his/her own transportation (driver or pick-up).
      • All or Nothing: The student cannot decide to attend one class after the AP exam but then skip another ("all or nothing").
      • Make-up Work: The student is responsible for communicating with teachers and obtaining any make-up work from the classes missed during and after  the exam (if leaving after the exam).

    Return to NCS for After School Sports/Activities: If Leaving after an AP exam and then returning for after school activities -- including NCS athletics -- a student will not be granted reentry to NCS until 2:15 pm, unless the student must return to catch a bus for an away game/contest that leaves NCS earlier than 2:15pm.

    Afternoon AP Exam Attendance Policy

    Most afternoon exams will end between 2:45-4:15 pm, after buses have been released. Students will need to secure their own transportation home (pick-up/driver), but check the approximate end times on the schedule as well.

    • Arrival: Arrive at school and be at your assigned testing room by time listed on schedule with sharpened #2 pencils (no mechanical, per College Board), a snack, lunch (if necessary), and a fully-charged calculator, or a calculator with extra batteries, whichever version you have, if necessary.
    • Before Exam Procedure: Students are expected to arrive at school at the normal time and attend classes in the morning.
    • Make-up Work: students are responsible to communicate with teachers-- of the classes they missed during exam time-- to ensure they are aware of any necessary make-up work.
    • Late Arrival Exam Exception: If a student wishes to arrive at school 5-15 minutes prior to an AP exam without attending classes in the morning-- the student and parent/guardian must complete this form prior to the day of their exam. Students will then wait in the assigned area until their testing rooms are ready. Mrs. Heseltine will dismiss students from the assigned area to their testing rooms. Students choosing this "exception" option must abide by the following rules:
      • Arrival: The student  must arrive at the main office by no more than 15 minutes, but no less than 5 minutes, prior to the start time listed on page 1, with his/her own transportation (driver or drop­ off).
      • All or Nothing: The student cannot decide to attend one class before the AP exam but then skip another before the AP exam (''all or nothing").
      • Make-up Work: The student is responsible for communicating with teachers and obtaining any make-up work from the classes missed before and during the exam.

I understand that NCS will not be providing transportation for this early release.
